Behind an impressive start by Bill Gourd, Indianapolis beat Buffalo, 3-2. The win gives Indianapolis a season record of 65-51.

Bob Peterson was 2 for 2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Indianapolis. The 26-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Kevin Qualls. It was his 27th walk of the season.
