Garcia Helps Pawtucket Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox coasted to a win over the Columbus Clippers, 10-3. Antonio Garcia had a good day at the plate for Pawtucket. He was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Earning his 16th save of the year was Donovan Scott. Columbus's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
In the top of the third, Pawtucket shortstop Jesus Diaz had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Diaz stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 3-1, Pawtucket. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Red Sox manager Chris Harris. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
