Skidding Clippers Lose 7th Straight
Syracuse Chiefs starter Vic Torres pitched a strong game against the Columbus Clippers at Huntington Park, leading the Chiefs to victory, 2-0. The second-place Chiefs are 64-53.

Syracuse used a clutch hit from Brandon Blankenship to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Come up with some new questions," snapped losing manager Luke Avila to reporters, "and I'll come up with some new answers."
