Braves Zip Past Bisons, 10-1
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Gwinnett-Buffalo ballgame.
Boosted by the 2-hit performance of Ryan Spalinger, who is tied for 6th in the IL in stolen bases with 22, the Gwinnett Braves defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 10-1. The winning pitcher was Jesus Medina. His record now stands at 10-10. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits for the Braves. Earning the save was Jose Rivera. He's now cashed in 1 of 2 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the second, Gwinnett catcher Carlos Trujillo had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Trujillo stroked a run-scoring single to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Gwinnett. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Buffalo manager Casey Bac.
The victory gives the Braves a record of 62-55.
