Chiefs Win Streak Now at 7 After 3-1 Victory
|
Syracuse took on Toledo in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Bobby Rivera, in particular, was fantastic. The Syracuse right-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-1. In 6 innings, Rivera surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Pete Pritchett earned the save, his 3rd.
The Chiefs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jacob Sessions. For the game, Sessions was 1 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Syracuse a 2-0 lead.
"I just tried to stick to my strengths," said Rivera.
The setback makes Toledo 65-53.
