Germano Helps Knights Defeat IronPigs, 7-4
With designated hitter Chris Germano leading the charge, the Charlotte Knights defeated the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 7-4, at Coca-Cola Park. Germano, who is tied for 4th in the IL in extra base hits with 49, was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Chad Muha got the win, improving to 14-7. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 1. The Knights go to 56-62, putting them second in the South Division.

Charlotte used a well-timed hit by Gilberto Frausto to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Knights ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Frausto.
