Columbus and Scranton WB got after it at Huntington Park.

The Columbus Clippers topped the Scranton WB RailRiders, 8-5, in International League action at Huntington Park. The standout performance belonged to Columbus pitcher and New York, native Tom Clark. Picking up the save was John Wordell, his 15th.

The Clippers got a big hit from catcher Mike Davenport. Facing Scranton WB pitcher Ricky Roy in the bottom of the fifth, Davenport pounded a 3-run home run to right-center. His 13th home run of the season put the Clippers ahead, 7-3.

"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Davenport.

Columbus has a record of 66-53, placing them second in the West Division.
