Bisons Defeat Braves in 10
|
The Buffalo Bisons had to overcome a fine effort from Gwinnett pitcher Chris Valentine to win, 5-4, in 10 innings at Coolray Field. Valentine went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs. Dustin Marks, who is tied for 7th in the IL in saves with 13, was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-5. The losing pitcher was Daniel Pethoud. Gwinnett, at 64-55, has lost 4 straight.
Buffalo took a 5-4 lead on Juan Garcia's 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Garcia hit in the top of the tenth, left Gwinnett pitcher Sam Crum visibly frustrated.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Casey Bac, the Buffalo manager.
