Gilmore Goes Wild, But Knights Win
The Charlotte Knights weathered an outstanding game by Buffalo designated hitter Will Gilmore to topple the Bisons, 6-5. Gilmore hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win was credited to Jason Brown in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jose Herrera took the loss. Tony Ponce De Leon collected save number 29.

The Knights got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Joey Simpson. For the game, Simpson was 2 for 2 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 5th triple of the season gave Charlotte a 6-4 lead.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Simpson told the Charlotte Chronicle.
