The Rochester Red Wings got a stellar performance from pitcher Jeff Olguin, who handcuffed the Norfolk offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Harbor Park. In 6.2 innings, Olguin surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Paul King closed the door for Rochester, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Donovan Washington, the 26-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Washington contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Rochester up, 2-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Washington told the Rochester News.
The 'W' lifts Rochester's record to 66-54.
