The Charlotte Knights downed the Buffalo Bisons, 4-1, at BB&T Stadium. Stellar pitching by Bill Van Norden had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the IL in complete games with 6, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner was Van Norden. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Matt LaForest. Charlotte is in first place in the South Division with a record of 70-51.

Mike Donner, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2112 draft, helped out the Charlotte cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 4 with a double.
