Charlotte Knights starter Jonathan Stevens turned in a top-notch performance against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park. The result was a win for the Knights, 2-1. Stevens got the win, improving to 6-8. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Tony Ponce De Leon wrapped it up, recording his 31st save.

Mike Richard had a big run-scoring double for the Knights in the top of the first inning. With Charlotte leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a cutter from 27-year old right-handed pitcher David Umana and swatted a double to left. It was his 34th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 2-0.

"Jonathan had good life on his pitches," said Charlotte manager Nick Zlomke.

The Knights improved to 67-55.
