The Charlotte Knights knocked off the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 1-0, in International League action at Coca-Cola Park. Charlotte pitcher and Vallejo, California, native Jason Brown had an outstanding performance. Charlotte is now 83-39, while Lehigh Valley is 56-66.

Charlotte used the hitting of Ethan Ellison to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Knights on top, 1-0. For the game, Ellison had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We were trying to do a difficult thing -- winning a game without scoring," said Lehigh Valley manager Bryce Bissinger. "That's not going to work out."
