RailRiders Need Extra Frames to Get Past Clippers
The Scranton WB RailRiders and Columbus Clippers lit up the scoreboard.

The timely hitting of Jimmy Dillard helped the Scranton WB RailRiders take down the Columbus Clippers, 12-8, in 11 innings. Dillard was 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the RailRiders. Mike Rice earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 4-2.

Scranton WB used the timely hitting of Robby Saenz to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the RailRiders on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Dillard told the Scranton WB Chronicle. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."

Scranton WB occupies last place in the North Division at 50-72.
