Bisons second baseman Greg Phillips put his stamp on his team's 11-1 win over the Norfolk Tides. Phillips was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for Buffalo in the contest. Buffalo starter Bill Higgins was credited with the win after throwing 91 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 8-4. Jesse Leake was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

The Bisons got an important contribution from left fielder Matt Gordon, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-1 curveball into left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Bisons ahead, 2-0.

"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Manny Romero.

The Bisons lead the North Division by 11 games.
