Spirited fans greeted the Syracuse Chiefs for their clash with the Gwinnett Braves.
Lance Hearty brought his A-game to help Gwinnett defeat the Syracuse Chiefs, 5-1. Hearty picked up the win for Gwinnett, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-7.
The Braves got a big at-bat from third baseman Dan Nardi. For the game, Nardi was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Gwinnett a 2-0 lead.
Hearty attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
