Rochester pitcher Curt McMahon had a large part in his team beating the Norfolk Tides, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Graig Tait picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Matt Olson suffered the loss. The Red Wings bumped their record to 62-61 with this win.
Rochester needed the clutch hitting of Scott Wilhelm to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Wings on top, 4-3. For the game, Wilhelm had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," McMahon told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
