Self Lifts Knights to 6-4 Triumph
The Charlotte Knights stopped the Scranton WB RailRiders, 6-4, behind an impressive performance from Billy Self. The 26-year old second baseman made life miserable for Scranton WB pitching. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chad Muha, the winning pitcher, is now 4-1. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. Earning his 1st save of the year was Danny Torres.

With Charlotte leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Self came up to bat against Scranton WB pitcher Johnny Moore. Self hit a fastball to left-center for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Knights on top, 5-0.

Said Charlotte manager Nick Zlomke: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."

The win gives Charlotte a record of 10-12.
