Bobby Richman pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Norfolk Tides, despite Richman's fine outing, dropped a 3-0 decision to the Rochester Red Wings at Harbor Park. Marco Ayala notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now sits at 5-6. Graig Tait converted his 3rd save in 5 tries.

The Red Wings got a big at-bat from right fielder Scott Wilhelm. For the game, Wilhelm was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Rochester a 2-0 lead.
