Indians Reel-In 4-3 Win Over Knights
|
Indianapolis parlayed a decent outing from starter Kyle Stevens into a solid win over the Charlotte Knights. The final score was 4-3. Stevens picked up the win for Indianapolis, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-8. Travis Pruett was credited with the save for Indianapolis, his 17th of the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Pat Wood? The Indianapolis first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Indians on top, 2-1. For the game, Wood had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Indianapolis manager Rene Almanza. "That's what Kyle is right now."
The Indians, at 60-64, sit in third place in the West Division.
