Syracuse Chiefs starter Josh Wright was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Durham Bulls, 5-2. Johnny Reed got the save, his 8th in 11 chances. The win gives Syracuse a season record of 69-57.

The Bulls had little chance against Wright, who overpowered Durham hitters and struck out 12.

"I went after the hitters," said Wright. "No pussyfooting around."
