Bisons Nip Bats, 4-3
|
The Buffalo Bisons scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Louisville Bats at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo pitcher John Ferch held his own in the contest. Jimmy Austin, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. The win lifts Buffalo to a record of 13-10.
The decisive blow was delivered by Steve Pena in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Aaron Rosenkranz to win the game for Buffalo. The home crowd went nuts.
In postgame remarks, Pena applauded his team's "toughness."
