Manley Helps Red Sox Defeat Clippers, 7-6
|
Alvin Manley had a 3-RBI game, during Pawtucket's 7-6 triumph over the Columbus Clippers. Manley contributed 2 singles and 1 home run to the cause. Eric Flores, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 9-7. Jack Hale picked up his 5th save of the season.
Pawtucket used a clutch at-bat from Ricky Manrriquez to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Manley told the Pawtucket Chronicle.
At 58-68, the Red Sox find themselves in 5th place in the North Division.
