Red Sox 9-6 Victors Over Columbus
|
Columbus left fielder Brian Main had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Main went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, even as Pawtucket beat the Clippers, 9-6. Picking up the win was Shane Prince. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. The left--hander struck out 2 and walked 5. Pawtucket, at 77-49, holds down first place in the North Division.
Pawtucket used the hitting of Alex Ruiz to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Red Sox on top, 2-1. For the game, Ruiz had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Ruiz told the Pawtucket Daily.
