Braves Tag Chiefs with 9-2 Loss
|
The Syracuse Chiefs and Gwinnett Braves met at NBT Bank Stadium to settle a score.
John Hamlin led Gwinnett to a win over Syracuse. The final score was 9-2. Hamlin scored 2 times, while going 3 for 6. The second baseman also totaled 3 RBI. The Braves are now 58-69.
Rich Thomas had a big 2-run double for the Braves in the top of the second inning. With Gwinnett leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Bobby Rivera, who is tied for 6th in the IL with a 1.14 WHIP, and swatted a double to right. It was his 29th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 4-0.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Thomas said. "That's why you play the game."
