3-2 Louisville Win Thrills Crowd
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Louisville Bats and the Indianapolis Indians, 26-year old left-handed pitcher Dan Costello was the difference-maker. The Louisville left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 10 innings. Louisville reliever Ben Hollingsworth picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Noah Cirbus was saddled with the loss. Louisville, at 60-68, sits in last place in the West Division.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 25-year old second baseman Danny Blanchard had a chance to be the hero. Indianapolis pitcher Noah Cirbus wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Blanchard hit a sacrifice fly. The Bats had themselves a thrilling win.
"It was a test of wills," said Isaac Moles, the Louisville skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
