Late Offense Lifts Gwinnett to 7-5 Victory
|
The Gwinnett Braves had to overcome a big game from Durham left fielder Danny Ba to leave Durham Bulls Athletic Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5, in 10 innings. Ba went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Gwinnett reliever Scott Frederick snagged the win, upping his record to 5-3. Ken Brusky shouldered the loss. With the win, the Braves improved to 59-70.
In the bottom of the tenth, Danny Ba stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Bulls were trailing 7-5, but had runners on 1st and 3rd. That's when Jeff Hartzell made a terrific pitch and Ba struck out. Gone was the dream of a Durham comeback.
