Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Buffalo Bisons.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs beat the Buffalo Bisons, 8-0, at Coca-Cola Park. Henry Quiroz, in particular, was impressive. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Lehigh Valley reliever Chris Irizarry picked up the win to move to 1-0. Franklin Castro suffered the loss. Getting the save was Jinrou Higashi, his 1st.

The IronPigs had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the ninth. The score was 8-0, Lehigh Valley. But Buffalo, with the bases loaded, had mounted a threat. Leo Partida dug in at the plate. But on a 1-2 curveball, Partida struck out.

The 5th-place IronPigs have a record of 59-70.
