Louisville designated hitter Bryan Martin contributed significantly to his team's 8-5 win over the Indianapolis Indians. Martin went 2 for 2 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bats. The Bats now have a record of 59-71 with the win over Indianapolis.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Mike Broussard came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Indianapolis pitcher Edwin Colomer, he hit a 0-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Louisville on top, 6-5.

Martin said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
