Clippers Hang 4-3 Loss on Bats
Louisville got a terrific game from center fielder John Costa. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Columbus, 4-3. Costa went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. Columbus reliever Brian Foody picked up the win to move to 3-3. Paul Dudley suffered the loss. The last-place Clippers now have a record of 58-72.

Mike Tamburello went 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Columbus. The 29-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Paul Dudley. It was his 31st RBI of the season.

"Fun game," said Tamburello, "even when the outcome was in doubt."
