The Syracuse Chiefs picked up a win at Frontier Field, topping the Rochester Red Wings, 3-1. On the mound for Syracuse was right-hander Mike DeWolfe. He played a principal role in the triumph. DeWolfe got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Matt Arnett locked down his 11th save.
Making an impact for Syracuse was right fielder Ricardo Mendoza. He drilled a double off Adam Cowart in the top of the first. For the game, Mendoza was 1 for 4 with a double.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said DeWolfe.
The setback makes Rochester 63-67.
