The Charlotte Knights took on the Durham Bulls at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Charlotte starter Ryan Broughton clamped down on the Durham offense, while his team sailed to victory, 11-1. The winner was Broughton. He threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Tony Severs.

Tim Schwalbe had a big 2-run home run for the Knights in the top of the first inning. With Charlotte leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Tony Severs, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2098 draft, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Knights on top, 4-0.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Durham manager Arnáo Dique. "We got flat-out beat."

The last-place Bulls now sit at 59-72.
