Charlotte starter Danny Guada pitched well against the Gwinnett Braves at Coolray Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. Antonio Gonzalez earned the save, his 15th, for the Knights. Charlotte is now 83-48, 9 games up in the South Division.

Charlotte relied on the hitting of Marcos Elizondo to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Knights on top, 2-0. For the game, Elizondo had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I like winning," Guada told the Charlotte News. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
