Indians Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Lehigh Valley got a big-time effort from pitcher Matt Knowlton, but it wasn't enough to keep the Indianapolis Indians from winning the game, 3-2. Knowlton threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run for the losing team. With the win, Indianapolis improves its record to 10-13.
Indianapolis used the timely hitting of David Trujillo to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Indians on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Indianapolis manager Rene Almanza applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
