Indians Win Again, 4-2, Extend Streak to 8
|
The Indianapolis Indians got a strong performance from pitcher Bill Gourd, who stymied the Louisville offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Victory Field. Glenn Farish was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 8 save opportunities. The Indians are now 76-55, while the Bats fall to 57-74.
Kevin Wallace, who leads the IL in extra base hits with 59, contributed to the Indianapolis win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
