Red Sox Lose Again, 2-1, to IronPigs
|
Lehigh Valley IronPigs starter Marquise Ceresa worked his magic, to help his team defeat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Ceresa, now 4-4. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 8. With the win over Pawtucket, the IronPigs improved to 64-67.
Had Tony Fernandez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Fernandez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the IronPigs.
Said losing manager David Larson: "The only way to escape your past is to be better than your past."
