The Lehigh Valley IronPigs did just enough to sneak past the Pawtucket Red Sox, 5-4, at Coca-Cola Park. Lehigh Valley pitcher Dave Simmons, in particular, had a standout performance. Lehigh Valley reliever David Adams picked up the win, upping his record to 9-10. Luis Boyd absorbed the loss. The IronPigs win now puts them at 53-78.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Lehigh Valley. That's when 26-year old third baseman Butch Kelley hit a run-scoring double off Luis Boyd to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"That game was intense," Kelley said.
