Indians Rally Late to Nip Mud Hens
|
Toledo wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Kenneth Jones, falling to the Indianapolis Indians, 4-3. Jones threw 7.2 innings allowing 1 run for the losing team. Indianapolis reliever Josh Ramsey picked up the win. Juan Vence took the loss for Toledo. Miguel Yanez earned save number 12 this season.
Brewer, Maine-born Justin Cantrell came through in the clutch. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded and the Indians trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Indianapolis on top.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Cantrell told the Indianapolis Herald.
The win puts Indianapolis at 66-66 this season.
