The Buffalo Bisons beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 7-2. Buffalo pitcher and Aurora, Illinois, native John Gongloff led the way. Gongloff, now 11-12, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Buffalo is now 67-66, while Syracuse is 76-57.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Coca-Cola Field crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
Gongloff said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
