The Charlotte Knights beat the Norfolk Tides, 3-2, at Harbor Park. The Knights got a fine performance from right fielder Chris Pitts, who went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Tony Ponce De Leon earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-2. The Knights now have a record of 65-69.

Pitts had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Blake Anderson, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Knights a 3-2 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Pitts.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Pitts.
