The home crowd had a good time watching the Syracuse Chiefs and Buffalo Bisons get after it.

Bisons left fielder Kyle Long left his mark on his team's 10-0 win over the Syracuse Chiefs. Long, who is tied for 9th in the IL in stolen bases with 33, went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for Buffalo in the contest. Larry Coyle was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 9 strikeouts.

The Bisons got a big hit from first baseman Roberto Marquez. Facing Syracuse pitcher Bobby Rivera in the bottom of the seventh, Marquez pounded a grand slam home run to left-center. His 14th home run of the season put the Bisons ahead, 8-0.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Syracuse manager Mark Holgate. "They pounded us."

Buffalo has now won 4 in a row.
