Toledo first baseman Matt Garduno had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-2, to Indianapolis at Fifth Third Field. Garduno went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. Marcelino Ramires snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 3.2 innings. He's now 8-2 on the season. The Indians own a robust 87-47 mark.

It could have been a different outcome for Indianapolis, had it not been for Sergio Nieves, the former first round draft pick . Nieves contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Indianapolis up, 2-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Indianapolis manager Rene Almanza.
