Syracuse got a valiant performance from pitcher Josh Wright, but it wasn't enough to beat the Norfolk Tides. Norfolk won the game, 3-2. Wright threw 9.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Syracuse, with the loss, is 13-9.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Norfolk trailing 2-1, Mike Mynhier hit a curveball from Johnny Reed to right-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Tides had a walk-off win.
