Tides Dealt 5-1 Loss by Charlotte
|
Santiago Aguilera never let Norfolk get something going. The Charlotte right-hander commanded his knuckle curve in pitching the Knights to a 5-1 win. Aguilera, now 8-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Charlotte is 85-50 and Norfolk, with the loss, 55-80.
Billy Stanley, the 28th overall pick in the 2095 draft, chipped in for Charlotte with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"I thought we played a nice game," Stanley told the Charlotte News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
