Indians Stop Bats, 6-4
|
Behind the hitting of Remco Oosterling, the Indianapolis Indians stopped the Louisville Bats, 6-4. Oosterling went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Indians. Aaron Gunia picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-6. Mike Oestreich suffered the loss. Justin LaRose, who is tied for 8th in the IL in holds with 5, earned the save for Indianapolis.
Oosterling contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Indianapolis in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Oosterling took a sinker from Mike Oestreich and stroked the home run to left-center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Indians to leap in front, 4-2.
"Put the ball in play and good things will happen," said Oosterling.
The third-place Indians bumped their record to 63-73.
