Amaro Alfarela helped his team muscle past the Syracuse Chiefs, 5-4. In the game, the Scranton WB designated hitter went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Nick Daniel, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 15th save. The RailRiders saw their record improve to 60-76.

Had Mike Ratliff not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ratliff hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the RailRiders.
