Extra-Inning Win by Chiefs Over Red Sox
|
The Syracuse Chiefs faced a tough opponent in Pawtucket pitcher Alberto Bustillo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at NBT Bank Stadium by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Bustillo went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Syracuse pitcher Pete Pritchett got the win. He's now 5-5. Donovan Scott was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Red Sox dropped to 63-74.
The Chiefs got a clutch hit from designated hitter Enrique Alamilla. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Chiefs.
In comments to the Syracuse Observer, Alamilla admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
