Soggy conditions did not keep Rochester and Scranton WB from playing their scheduled game.

Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old second baseman Ricky Bermea, the Rochester Red Wings stopped the Scranton WB RailRiders, 8-1, in 9 innings. The winning pitcher was Marco Garcia. He's now 4-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits for the Red Wings.

With Rochester leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Bermea hit a curveball from Austin Stutzman for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Red Wings ahead, 6-1.

Bermea said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."

The Red Wings have a one-game lead in the North Division.
