Clippers Lick Bats, 5-0
|
The Columbus Clippers picked up a win at Louisville Slugger Field, knocking off the Louisville Bats, 5-0. On the mound for Columbus was right-hander Dan Lash. He played a key role in the triumph. Lash got the win, improving to 8-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Columbus now sports a record of 62-76.
Columbus first baseman Danny de la Mora contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 91st hit of the season and put the Clippers ahead, 2-0.
Columbus manager Dan Goldthwaite called it "a darn good win."
