Chiefs Trip RailRiders, 4-2
|
Syracuse Chiefs starter Israel Salanova led his team to victory over the Scranton WB RailRiders, 4-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Salanova picked up the win for Syracuse, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Picking up the save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Ray Koval.
Oscar Hernandez, who is tied for 8th in the IL in triples with 5, chipped in a run-scoring sacrifice fly for Syracuse in the top of the third. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I thought Israel threw the ball well across the board," said Syracuse manager Phil Burkel.
The loss makes Scranton WB 52-85.
