Clippers Topple Indians, 5-4
|
Columbus registered a win at Huntington Park by beating the Indianapolis Indians, 5-4. Pitcher Sam Selby was one reason why the Clippers triumphed. In 7 innings, Selby surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. The second-place Clippers now have a win-loss record of 74-65.
Eric Walsh had a big 2-run home run for the Clippers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Columbus trailing 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Ramsey and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Clippers on top, 4-3.
"Sam did a nice job," said Clippers manager Toby West.
