Syracuse starter Peyton Scarola pitched well against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 9-5, in 10 innings. Syracuse, now 15-9, has played well in the early going.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Nick Minford came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Lehigh Valley pitcher Franklin Gallardo, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Syracuse on top, 6-5.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Minford.
