The Syracuse Chiefs took on the Scranton WB RailRiders at PNC Field.

The Syracuse Chiefs defeated the Scranton WB RailRiders, 10-3, at PNC Field. Syracuse was led by 25-year old center fielder Matt Clayton, who went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Bill Freake was the winner. He's now 15-11. The loser was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Johnny Moore.

With Syracuse leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Clayton hit a slider from Johnny Moore for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 5-0.

Clayton called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."

With the win over Scranton WB, the Chiefs improved to 79-62.
