Buffalo and Syracuse got after it at Coca-Cola Field.

The Buffalo Bisons topped the Syracuse Chiefs by a score of 8-4. Leading the way was second baseman John Carr. Carr was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Bisons. The winner in relief was Jesse Leake. He is now 7-0. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 4.2 innings.

Carr contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Buffalo in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Carr took a splitter from Vic Torres and stroked the home run to left. His 22nd home run of the season allowed the Bisons to leap in front, 4-2.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Buffalo manager Clayton Beaulieu.

The Bisons improve their record to 91-51 with the win over Syracuse.
