|
The Indianapolis Indians racked up a win at Victory Field, bumping off the Columbus Clippers, 4-2. Bill Gourd, who started for Indianapolis, pitched effectively for his team. Taurino Ramirez earned his 4th save in 6 chances. The West Division-leading Indians are 83-59.
Andreas Frick had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run triple. His 13th triple of the season put Indianapolis on top, 4-0.
Indians manager John LaRossa raved about Gourd after the game. "I thought Bill was 'lights out.'"
