Red Sox Pin 7-1 Loss on Lehigh Valley

The Pawtucket Red Sox topped the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 7-1, in International League action at Coca-Cola Park. The standout performance belonged to Pawtucket pitcher and Tornillo, Texas, native Tim Payton. Payton, now 9-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Red Sox now have a record of 65-77 with the win over Lehigh Valley.
Tony Magana, the Pawtucket catcher, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to make the score 5-0, Red Sox. For the game, Magana went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
"Tim was missing bats all night," said Pawtucket manager Chris Harris.
