Bisons Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
The Buffalo Bisons beat the Rochester Red Wings, 2-1. Buffalo pitcher and Oswego, Illinois, native Eric Ferguson led the way. Buffalo is now 78-64, while Rochester is 80-62.
Steve Pena, who is tied for 5th in the IL with a .314 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Pena contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Buffalo up, 2-1.
"The old adage is true," said Pena. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
